Hello to the class of "65". I still get to O'side perodically but am currently
living in the San Bernardino Mountains close by Lake Gregory in Crestline, CA.
We left the OHS Pirate ship over 42 years ago now and it certainly has been a
fascinating passage. I hope you all had more fair weather than stormy and that
as we move into the realm of "geezerhood" your balance is fine and your smile

I was skipped ahead two grades in Grammar School, so I was the youngest (and
smallest) kid in class.
If I stayed after school for sports, I would miss the bus. If I was lucky, I'd
be able to hitch a ride back to Vista, but cars were few and far between on that
stretch of dirt road, and I often had to walk the 12 miles home.

i can report that life as a rastafarian farmer is at least 85% bliss if anyone's
looking for a change of wayz...
enjoyed seeing the reunion pix and other memories from attendees throughout the
years on this site
a lot of people seem happy to have attended our high school!
least that's what they say now ! :)
when i think of oceanside h.s. i remember
michael ballman ('82 right?)...
oh a lot of stuff now that im thinking about it...
Roberto's drive-thru taquitos,
sneaking into the drive-in movies,
working at Wag's liquors in S. Oceanside (is that still there?) and all the
transvestite hookers who used to frequent our establishment,
*all* my team-mates and coaches,
& friends
& a few teachers ;)
a lot of pain, too...
i guess many people find h.s. and those years somewhere between challenging and
frickin hard
i think about the mission, the "luiseno" indians...
wonder if any of my classmates were from luiseno families...probably
on the o'side historical society page it says that the luisenos were
instrumental in building the mission because they "provided all the labor".
sounds reminiscent of the &^% they used to feed us with
i think about pendleton and how its aura permeates the town...hearing the
detonations at night from exercises..how the base affects who lives in oceanside
today as well as what their lives are like
i remember walking down california street at night and hearing the waves
breaking on the beach in the winter,
going down to Moonlight at night when we got our licenses,
& how cute all the girls were!
