Calling All Pirates! Those of us that volunteer to serve on the board and on the
various committees take great pleasure in doing so, and enjoy giving back to our
school, our students, and our community.
We do need more volunteers though. We have a meeting once a month, and
committees meet more often if necessary depending on the needs of their project.
Its only a few hours per month and we could really use the help and input of
fresh ideas.
For this Foundation and the website to continue, and not to mention the
scholarships and other things we do, we need you to join us. Whether it is the
newsletter, publicity, membership, fundraising, or the Hall of fame committee,
we need fresh faces with fresh ideas.
The Hall of Fame committee met last Tuesday night and selected this year's
inductees for Homecoming weekend. Man is it fun and interesting to be a part of
this process, and also to see what so many of our fellow Pirates have
accomplished in life and all that they have given back. They really are an
inspiration to all of our students to be the best that they can be.
On the homepage of this website, you will find the date, time, and location of
our next meeting. We would love to see you there and hear any ideas that you may
have.
And if you would like to make a donation, you can do so by mail or online, and
it is always tax deductible. You will receive your tax record receipt in the
mail a few days after we receive your donation.
Be sure to root our Pirates on this coming year as they attempt to win their 5th
C.I.F. Division title, and hopefully a return to the State Tournament!

My father, James Robert Moffat, graduated around 1943-1944, lived in Carlsbad on
Pine St. I went to OHS and Graduated in 1970. I am now a Postal Supervisor at
the US Military Academy at West Point, New York. Will be eligible to retire in
2010. I love your web site. Very informative. I come "Home" every once in awhile

My experience at OHS helped to make me who I am today. There were a lot of good
times that I remember not to mention some of the "crazy times". Transferring to
OHS in the beginning of my Freshman year from Orange County was definitely a
change for me. Thanks to all of my friends as well as a lot of the faculty

I loved my time at OHS and was on the wrestling team and was active in the drama
and speech programs. Cliff Roach was the drama teacher and was a big influence.

A walk to the beach when I didn't want to go to econ ... a trip to El Pollo Loco
for lunch with my off campus pass ... hanging out in Mr. Langan's room after
school, singing ... singing the Alma Mater ... being a cheerleader ... above all
