OHS Foundation proudly announces the 2015 Faculty Grant Winners
Congratulations to the following teachers, their OHS Foundation Faculty Grants have been approved for the 2015 Spring semester. Each received $500. Thank you for making a difference in the OHS students education!
Charles Zivotsky, (Special Education)
These funds will be spent on providing examples of hydroponic cultures for students to build, operate, maintain and do experiments relating to hydroponics. These systems will be placed in the greenhouse on the 3rd flood of the Science and Tech Building and open for all students.
Leah Ritt, (Choir)
This grant will be used to help purchase state-of-the-art sound equipment to better enhance the technical capabilities of the choir to make it more competitive. The students have worked hard and the choir is now at a level to participate in top-tier competitions. Although the choir does fundraising throughout the year to pay for all of the costs associated with the program, there are precious little funds left over to enhance the technical capabilities. This grant will help them purchase the sound equipment they need.
Paul Ruez, (Digital Studio)
These funds will help to purchase supplies to support the Digital Studio, one of the Career Technical Education programs at OHS. This includes items needed to enter the students’ work into the San Diego County Del Mar Fair this spring. Through the competition at the Del Mar Fair and the exposure to thousands of people, students learn the valuable experience needed in the professional world.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THESE OUSTANDING OHS EDUCATORS!
