July 9, 2016 — The Oceanside High School football team headed to Julian this past week toPirate Champ Camp - Julian Pirate Champ Camp - Juliangain some valuable insight and physical preparation as they get ready for the 2016 football season.

During the week, the Pirates took part in a Pirates Champ Camp #PuluStrong –working out hard in the rough, hilly terrain of Pirate Champ Camp - Julian Julian, set in the Cuyamaca mountains.  Running up steep embankments, doing strenthening exercises, and even working out in the pool proved to be a great experience.

C.H.A.M.P. is an acronym that stands for character, heart, attitude, motivation, and pride.

Tevin Meadows (Senior FB) was recognized for motivation and inspiration at the Pirates Champ Camp.

Albert Leasau  (Senior Guard) was recognized for having heart throughout the Pirates Champ Camp.

The camp was not only about the work outs and team building but was about life lessons and team bonding, too, which united the guys who know, there is no “I” in “T E A M”.  Way to Go Pirates!
