Honoring Those Lost in Vietnam War

Plans are being made to honor OHS graduates who were lost in the Vietnam War with a memorial plaque. Dale Kelley (OHS Class of 1962) is researching all classes and websites to determine the names of KIA/MIA Oceanside High students. If you have information about a friend, relative or acquaintance from OHS who fits this description, he asks that you contact him at (626) 644-3674 or email: dkelley74@live.com.

The following have already been identified:

Vietnam Memorial Plaque Example

Thomas Samuel Alfred
Wayne Anderson Allen
Daniel Ralph Brophy
Daryl Wayne Crum
Dean Lee Frey
Christopher Garcia
John Harvey Hoeffs
Edward Henry Kennedy
Robert Bozo Kostich, Jr.
Mitchell Messing
Terry Ward Ratcliff

A Go Fund Me page has been created to raise the needed funds for this project. Once it’s completely funded and created, the memorial plaque will be placed in a prominent location on campus to remind students, faculty and visitors that freedom is not free.  An example of a completed plaque is pictured.
This project has been approved by Oceanside High School and the OHS Foundation and will be overseen by the Foundation.
