Alumni Watch: Will Christmas, Class of 2015

William Christmas was a Pirate standout with outstanding years at Oceanside High, he received the Simon Scholar and Silver President Award for Excellence in English and Mathematics, and played sports especially excelling on the basketball court. Will, 6’5″, earned the Team MVP award while averaging 23 points per game and shooting 70 percent from the free throw line, then achieved 1st team All-League three times and 2nd team All-County his senior year in 2015.

Will currently is a sophomore Kinesiology major at Cal Poly Pomona University. His future goal is to become a physical therapist for professional athletes.

A leading scorer on the Broncos men’s basketball team, Will averaged 8.3 points per game, 182 total points his freshman year and was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Freshman of the Year.

This year on January 20, against Cal State LA, Will put in a dominating performance, scoring 25 points along with 12 rebounds to earn a double-double. Cal Poly Pomona won 69-55 and the Broncos remain at the top of their league in standings with an 11-2 conference record.
