Alma Mater

As originally written by Mr. De Macedo:

Oceanside, Carlsbad
Can't you hear us calling?
Alma Mater, dear to all,
To thee our hearts are tied.
Strong to fight, and fair to win
On to victory!
Oceanside, Carlsbad,
Hail, Hail, Hail!

The mysterious second verse:

Happy days, Happy Days,
Mem'ries only linger
Alma Mater dear to all
To thee we say farewell
Far and wide, we'll scatter soon,
May we meet again.
Oceanside, Oceanside
Hail, Hail, Hail

As re-written in 1958:

Oceanside, Oceanside
Can't you hear us calling?
Alma Mater, Dear to all,
To thee our hearts are tied.
Strong to fight, and fair to win
On to victory!
Oceanside, Oceanside,
Hail, Hail, Hail!

No seems to know the story about the second verse of the original song, when it was written or why it doesn't appear anywhere.  If anyone knows, please let us know so that we can put this information up on the website, as part of the history of OHS.
