Hi. I manage this website and I have received numerous
complements over the years. Thank you so much. I really enjoy working on the
Foundation and am proud to be a part of it. But we need your help. When we
started working on the centennial, we had a class room full of volunteers. It
was great. Now we are down to about a dozen. If you live in the area, come
volunteer some time. It will only take about an hour for our monthly meetings
plus helping out at our fund-raisers, which you should come to anyway. We have

Hello to everyone. I attended Oceanside schools until March of 67: moved while
a junior to Valdosta, Georgia. I played football, basketball and was in the
band. Have not been to Oceanside since 84 but planning a trip in late August,
10--will be there a couple of days and would love to visit with some old
friends---I hung out with David and Mike Shipley, Dottie Shipley, Steve Hanson,
Loa Poapoa, Willie Buchannon, Marc Wilson, Steve Miller, and numerous others.
Lived on Crestline Dr. Spent many, many hours at Harbor Beach body surfing and

If you haven't had a chance to read the current
newsletter, Tom Adams has written an article about Terry Cross and the
Harbor Fish and Chips. It
brings back
fond memories of the harbor. Debbie Hill and I used to go out on her
step-dad's boat deep sea fishing
a couple times a year. It was fun. Then we would come back and stroll the
harbor giggling and looking for boys. However, we were both covered in
fish blood and guts and my
hair would frizz something awful. What a site we must of been. No wonder we
never landed any!

Though I left in 1972 when I joined the Marine Corps, I still feel I am a part
of that school. I would have graduated in 73, but after my mother died, who by

Maui, Hawaii after my dad retired from the Marines in 1973.

Hi all,
I was just looking at this website, as I occasionally do...and looked in the "
memorium" section, sad.
Familiar names, remembered faces, hell, I can even still remember their voices
so many years later. I remember working at Tastee Freez with Joe Abrams,
Joe!!!...what happened?...not you!...you were way too cool to leave us early. I
hope I paid you back for every time you loaned me 2 bucks pal, you were a friend
of mine, and Freda Marie Salmon...another shock!...beautiful smile, so friendly.
we also worked together at Tastee Freez. Your the only one that uniform dress
looked good on kiddo...I hope wherever you are, everyone there enjoys that
wonderful smile as much as I did, and still do in my memory. Harold Deibert left
early too...way too early, I have to tell you pal, it always pissed me off when
I'd find out you were making just a bit more than me on any job,...I hope you
still are, and by the way...I had a wicked crush on your sister, still do kinda...hahahaha...David
Atoe...great arm....he was my QB in the CPYFL...we were awesome...They couldnt
touch us....and wont again someday ...pass 5 post my man(old football play) for
the rest of you...he knows...which is all that matters. I also saw that Arthur
Hemingway has gone...quiet kid...great kid...BIG KID....kinda shy, goofy...he
was also on my football team, CPYFL...the Bears...he was a mediocre defensive
end at best...marginal tackle...but then one day...somebody gave him the ball as
a stand in running back...and WOW!!!
Rita Schwagg has gone too...a true beauty...I hope the trip was an easy one, and
that many were waiting for you, which I have no doubt they were.
Where'd you go Craig Hoops? What happened?...and how?...Man I would have never
thought...your's is one of the voices I can still hear so distinctly, you and
Joe and Freda.
I hope wherever all of you find yourselve's these days, the living is easy, and
the beach sand is so hot you can barely walk on it, the ocean is blue, with
frothy whitecaps, and the smoked bonita on the pier is free, if it's not...try
to get that fixed for the rest of us...quick!!!...because we'll all be along
shortly.
