Vietnam Memorial

Honoring our fallen soldiers

As reported by the OHS Foundation, Dale Kelley (OHS Class of 1962), spearheaded a project honoring the Pirates who served and sacrificed their lives while fighting in the Vietnam War. The Oceanside High School Vietnam Memorial dedication ceremony was held on Memorial Day, May 28, 2018.

Speakers included Teresa Collis, principal of OHS, Dale Kelley, and Terry Johnson, former mayor of Oceanside and OHS graduate, whose cousin Thomas Alfred is named on the plaque.

The memorial contains the names, the branch of service and date of death. The location of this memorial is in the center of campus by the flagpole in front of the library.  Please take the time to visit this treasured memorial the next time you visit Oceanside High.

This is a special remembrance to honor those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.   We are grateful to Dale Kelley for his thoughtfulness and dedication to have this memorial established.

Thank you for making the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
