Scholarship Winner

Watching her mother work long hours to support the family, Azucena understands the importance of perseverance and dedication.  In response to the challenges she witnessed in her family, she realized that the challenges did not define her, but pushed her to find her own strength and solutions to the difference problems.  She has participated in campus and community volunteer organizations, specifically in the school’s food pantry where she was able to provide support to families facing financial challenges.  This volunteer work has taught her the value of helping others and shown her the putative impact that is has on those around her.
